Hello there!
We are Arn Lagerwall and Alicia Carr, a husband-and-wife team based on San Juan Island. We are channeling our distinct skill sets and a combined 25 years of experience in luxury estate management and yachting into what has become Wayfarers Estate and Yacht Management.
We moved to Friday Harbor in 2020 from Miami with our one-year-old daughter, drawn by the stunning Salish seascapes, genuine connections, and the slower, more intentional rhythm of island life. Nearly five years later, we’ve settled into our forever home, built lasting relationships, and found a deeply supportive network. Our family has thrived, and we’ve discovered a real sense of home and belonging.
Wayfarers has been shaped through years of nomadic travel and careers that have taken us around the world—reflecting not only what we’ve learned along the way but also the care and intention that have defined our life here. With a strong connection to our community and a passion for providing high-level service, we continue to combine our deep love for this island with our collective expertise in managing luxury estates and yachts.
Our Mission
Our mission is to offer exceptional, bespoke management tailored to the unique needs of island living—as trusted stewards of your most cherished spaces on land and sea.
Arn Lagerwall
With 15 years in the field as a yacht captain and engineer, Arn has operated and maintained luxury vessels up to 135 feet along the U.S. East and West Coastlines and throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean. His background includes navigation, vessel operations, shipyard and project management. He is skilled in passage planning and mechanical systems (fuel service, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and engine room operations). Arn’s approach blends hands-on leadership with a reliable, grounded presence. Known for his easygoing and thoughtful demeanor, he has earned the trust of owners, guests, and crew alike. With a solid foundation in safety, security protocols, HR, and crew management, he has ensured smooth operations on deck and behind the scenes.
Over the past three years, Arn has transitioned his skills toward estate management, overseeing a 55-acre forested property on San Juan Island, as well as a multi-home waterfront estate on the westside. He has led large-scale projects, including forest management, road development, home renovations, garden and orchard installations, water system oversight, and smart home/security monitoring. His role also includes vendor coordination, staff supervision, and construction crew management—bringing the same precision and hands-on competence that defined his yachting career to estate operations.
